In today’s the guardian Jasper Rees writes about the master piano tuner Ulrich Gerhartz.
Nine male pianists are mentioned in the article and only five women. The only pianists who are mentioned in a longer sentence are Alfred Brendel, Lang Lang, Mikhail Rudy and Vladimir Horowitz, all of them male.

The next article is written by Lyn Gardner and is about a theatre group called Forced Entertainment. The only quotes in the article are from Tim Etchells who is the company’s artistic director.

Funnily enough Germaine Greer is writing about women’s place in the art in today’s art comment. She writes: “The chances of someone being around who cares about women’s place in art history are more slender now than they were 20 years ago.”
